Nominations open for Health and Safety Representative of the Year Awards 2022
Nominations for the 2022 Government Health and Safety Lead Health and Safety Representative (HSR) of the Year Awards have opened, with plans underway for a half-day conference to be held on the 2nd June 2022.
Announcement – New Director, Government Health and Safety Lead
The GHSL is delighted to announce Lance Goodall as our new Director, starting Monday 21st February 2022. Lance is currently the Head of Wellbeing, Health and Safety at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
Mental Health Awareness Week 2021
Welcome to Mental Health Awareness Week 2021. This year's theme is Take time to kōrero - a little chat can go a long way. This theme is particularly relevant in the current environment as we continue to navigate business as usual and start to return to the office after the recent COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. This is a timely opportunity for leaders and teams to check in on each other's psychological wellbeing and ensure this is considered through this transition. We must consider the effect of work on mental health and mental health on work and put in place helpful solutions where support is needed. One of the simplest ways we can start to do this is by talking about our mental wellbeing at work - so take time to kōrero this week (a little chat can go a long way!).
