2022 Sector H&S of the Year Awards

Nominations for the fifth annual government sector H&S of the Year Awards will open on 31st January 2022.   The awards presentation will take place in Wellington on 2nd June 2022.

Do you have an outstanding Health and Safety Representative in your agency?

In 2018 the Government Health and Safety Lead (GHSL) ran the first annual sector Health and Safety Representatives’ Conference.  The conference purpose was to promote health and safety and, more specifically, to recognise the contribution of Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs).  The conference included HSR of the Year awards.

The Government Health and Safety Lead is again planning the HSR Awards for 2022, recognising the outstanding contributions as an HSR, and now is the time to start thinking about nominations for your HSR's.

The date has been set, and further information will be sent out next year, however here is some of the criteria judges look for:

 - outstanding commitment  to HSR's

 - exceptional leadership 

 - distinct initiatives to engage the agency in H&S matters
